Overview

The Sr Manager of Global Services is integral to providing strategic direction and supervising a multifaceted team, specifically focusing on payroll-related services within audit, data entry, reception, global administrative operations, project support, and centralized office services. This role demands expertise in payroll systems to ensure operational efficiency, service excellence, and process standardization across the Global Services function. The senior leader will work closely with executives, internal clients, and key stakeholders to ensure high-impact payroll service delivery that aligns with organizational goals, actively promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation in payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement a strategic vision for Global Services to align with the organization’s objectives, particularly emphasizing payroll service excellence and industry best practices.
  • Drive the development and execution of high-impact payroll strategies, programs, and operational initiatives, optimizing internal support experiences and enabling organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment of payroll operations with broader business goals, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and cross-functional leaders, serving as a strategic advisor to address complex payroll-related client needs.
  • Oversee payroll service delivery standards and proactively address issues, ensuring effective communication and alignment with organizational priorities and compliance standards.
  • Champion a client-centric approach across the team, focusing on superior payroll service delivery and anticipating future needs.
  • Champion a risk management and control culture, ensuring resilience and robustness specifically within all payroll operational processes.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing, diverse, multi-disciplinary team capable of meeting payroll service demands, promoting accountability, innovation, and high standards.
  • Drive a proactive talent management strategy, focusing on the recruitment, development, and retention of top payroll talent to support current and future organizational needs.
  • A specific focus on development of leaders at all levels within their span to facilitate grow and flow of leadership talent.
  • Champion career development programs, mentorship, and ongoing training to cultivate a skilled team in payroll services capable of meeting the demands of a dynamic environment.
  • Lead performance management processes, including setting payroll-specific strategic objectives, conducting ongoing feedback, and driving evaluations to support individual and team growth.
  • Partner with HR and senior leaders to address performance management needs, fostering a culture of accountability and high standards in payroll services.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive work environment promoting high engagement, motivation, and alignment with organizational values, particularly in payroll functions.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve payroll-related processes within Global Services, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, consistency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives to implement payroll best practices and standardized processes that drive operational excellence and foster consistency across payroll audit, project, and reception services.
  • Collaborate with Global Services Supervisors and cross-functional leaders to address and resolve inefficiencies, applying payroll industry best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives and organizational projects to support strategic goals, collaborating with executive leaders to drive transformative payroll service results.
  • Provide thought leadership and represent the Global Services function in high-impact payroll projects, advocating for improvements that drive organization-wide efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to advance the organization’s payroll mission and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the overall function of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required.
  • Master's Degree - Preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, focusing on payroll domain expertise.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience in global services, operations, or support functions, with a significant emphasis on payroll services or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
