Overview

Independently gathers and analyzes business and technical needs in order to identify and document requirements for simple to complex projects. Assists in the development of others Requirements analyst. As an independent decision maker, this role also directs the work related to the analysis, development and testing resources associated with one or more agile teams.

Responsibilities

    1. Establishes the approach needed to support the analysis phase of simple to very complex projects.
    2. Analyzes impact, conducts feasibility studies and proposes solutions for simple to very complex technology and business projects.
    3. Facilitates requirements gathering sessions for simple to very complex technology, research and business initiatives.
    4. Develops requirements for simple to very complex technology and business initiatives at the level of detail and rigor needed by those who must base their work on the requirements.
    5. Uses a variety of analytical techniques to gather and analyze requirements (e.g. interviews, facilitated workshops, documented analysis, surveys, site visits, use cases, workflow analysis, observations, etc.).
    6. Uses graphical representations to augment textual requirements (e.g. diagrams, models, process and data flows, etc.).
    7. Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources and resolves conflicts.
    8. Documents requirements in simple unambiguous and concise language in order to provide direction to those who base their work on this information.
    • Facilitates requirement prioritization and tradeoff decisions to support business goals and project constraints as well as discussions and conflict resolution across teams with multiple Product Owners and Stakeholders to ensure timelines are met.
    1. Manages changes to requirements and communicates them to the rest of the team.
    2. Acts as a lead on simple to complex projects.
    3. Participates in the development and testing of new analytical policies, standards, practices and tools to continuously improve the analysis process.
    4. Participates in the identification of ways to reuse requirements across projects to promote efficiency and consistency.
    5. In addition to the Requirements Analyst tasks this role defines agile project scope and is directly responsible for the management of the product backlog (which drives the delivery of features) for their assigned teams. Evaluates, prioritizes, and sequences the product APR backlog based on business value and/or ROI. Represents Product Management on project teams as the Product Owner/Decision Maker to assist in answering questions and to provide strategic direction to project teams.
    6. Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in Experience with Paychex products/markets and/or Product Management experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Product management or product experience and management experience.
