Overview

The Finance Excellence & Modernization Manager will lead the design, transition, and stabilization of finance processes into the India GSS (Global Shared Services). This role drives process excellence, and enables digital transformation aligned with enterprise objectives. This role is critical for process documentation, audit preparedness, training and development of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight Represents the department on teams and projects to ensure that departmental needs are met and that actions of the team are in line with departmental goals. Build and mentor a small team of accountants responsible for core GL functions, providing training, support, and performance feedback. Review and approve reconciliations and journal entries prepared by staff for accuracy and completeness. Serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to GL accounts, reconciliations, and fixed assets. Provide training on compliance, systems, and controls. Foster a culture of execution discipline and accountability. Backs up team members when needed in order to meet deadlines of the department
  • Transition Management Lead end-to-end transition of finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, etc.) into the GCC. Develop transition plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies. Ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, and training are completed effectively. Partner with global stakeholders to align on scope, SLAs, and governance.
  • Transformation & Process Excellence Drive finance process standardization, automation, and digital enablement (ERP, RPA, AI/ML tools). Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost optimization, and control enhancements. Implement best practices in global finance operations and shared services. Champion continuous improvement culture within the GSS.
  • Stakeholder Management Act as the primary liaison between global finance leadership and India GSS teams. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams (IT, HR, Operations). Provide regular updates to senior management on transition progress and transformation outcomes.
  • Governance & Compliance & Reporting Ensure adherence to global finance policies, internal controls, and compliance requirements. Establish performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks. Support audits and regulatory requirements in India and globally. Monthly management reporting around all key metrics of Finance GSS teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale transitions in GCC/GBS/Shared Services environments. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday) and digital finance tools. Experience in automation, RPA, and process re-engineering preferred. Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and automation tools is increasingly valued. Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority Process improvement mindset with a focus on automation, accuracy, and scalability
